Lately:

Montsouris with NJ. I have officially become a steak tartare addict. Strange for someone who doesn’t eat meat, no? And his venison was fabulous too.

Luna Grill with BM, birthday lunch. He liked the sweet potato fries (If you are into that kinda thing. Which I am not.) They make an excellent grilled (not girled) cheese sandwich, and are happy to give me mashed potatoes instead of French fries, just like old times…

Komi with Mom and M and NJ, birthday dinner. Oh, Komi. Where to begin? How about the house cured olives? Or the baked dates stuffed with mascarpone? Maybe the truffled potato ravioli with almonds? The whole roasted bronzini? Don’t forget the chocolate with olive oil gelato for dessert. A birthday dinner with wonderful food and wonderful company which will be remembered fondly for a long time to come.

Dino with SH, girls night out. Dino extended their Restaurant Week offer for the whole month of January! Curses! More Calamari Fritti and Orechietti ai Funghi for me. (And her venison was fabulous too…)

PS7s with AL and HJ. So much food to talk about, so little time!! The Warm Foie Gras Custard With Cool Granny Smith Apple and Roasted Duck Gelée is what Café Atlantico’s Hot & cold foie gras and corn soup wishes it could be…

Malibu Grill with JM. A meating!! (Meeting. Get it. Ha.) Good conversation. Meat “seasoned with salt.” Um, enough said.

I won one of these at the Food and Friends Volunteer Banquet the other night. We will be putting it to use for our potluck on Wednesday. Nothing like making smores over a grill when it is 5 below outside…
